Name = Doctor Hadley Baines
Alias/Nicknames = Doc, Hades, Bones
Age = 23
Status =Single, never married
Height = 5'11"
Weight = 125 32b-24-32
Eye Color =green/hazel
Hair Color = red
General Demeanor/Personality = Studious, book/information hoarder, a sociable introvert. She loves her field of getting to know others but is awkward in letting others get to know her. It is an uncomfortable blend of not saying enough and blurting out completely inappropriate things. Quirky, good sense of humor, voyeuristic, exhibitionist, adventurous, always willing to try something new and 'go native!'
Quirks = (if applicable) Loves to immerse herself into a culture that she is studying no matter how odd it may seem, creates dolls/figures' of people, a collection of interesting cultures, species, professions (etc), will agree to anything (non-lethal) in the name of science and research!, Random fact blurter, impulsive
Best Skills = quick study, excellent memory, well organized (OCD), blends well when needing to immerse herself into a culture, most versed in sociocultural anthropology but has a decent grasp on the other branches of anthropology to be regarded as a specialist in the field in general. (1.1 Sociocultural anthropology , 1.2 Biological anthropology, 1.3 Archaeological anthropology, 1.4 Linguistic anthropology) As a hobby, she enjoys botany, she knows enough not to get poisoned by common plant life in the Atverse, and a few basic medical properties in an emergency situation (that knowledge and hobby forming
from her immersion time in other cultures. She is knowledgeable but by no means an expert)
General Skills = hiking, running, cooking, basic survival 'wilderness' skills (attached to the job), plays aprox 3 songs on the ocarina, language skills come rather easily to her but retaining them fluently- long term- isn't her forte. clay modeling, computer skills, drawing (sketching, not a painter or anything extravagant, a skill picked up in journalizing her experiences and studies)storytelling
Reputation = (if applicable) Known as one of the bright minds in her field of study she is on her way to the top! Personally, she is the quirky doctor, interesting stories, nice and inviting if not a bit of an odd duck.
Brief Bio (3 or more Paragraphs) = Hadley is an orphan child of Javos with no knowledge of her personal ancestry. But, that dire beginning gave the curious, fire haired girl the love of trying to understand not just Javos and it's culture but the need to understand them all. An impossible task, perhaps, but not for the lack of trying! The name Baines came from a priest that often visited the orphanage and when she made her way into the world, she figured since he would have no children of his own, he might not mind her using it for herself!
She left the group home when she was 13, not on her own - no. She was accepted into an accelerated learning program, passing the required testing to win scholarship for the boarding school. After general studies, it was a short trip to her doctorate in anthropology. In the breaks between studies she would take what wages she had earned in administrative jobs, and go to one of the moons, or another colony and dig deep into their culture to learn and understand who they were as a people. Her thesis upon graduation was about her own journey, entitled, "A child of the Verse is never an orphan".
It was true, though. She never felt alone, she had never felt out of place - no matter how sorely she might stick out at times due to her coloring! But it was all ...life..love...experience, culture, religion, relationships! Every group of people had these things! They just expressed them differently. As for herself? She lived life to the fullest, of that no one would doubt. Love? She loved greatly, just not one singular 'special' person. She had experiences that would make saints blush and the weak tremble, but most of the time she was nose in a book! Religion? Oh she had faith there was something greater at work in the Verse, but a name for it? Not quite. relationships? Well, she thought about it now and then - taking the time to focus her life on the personal aspect - but frankly thus far no one had caught her eye. Could be because she was often seeing the details and not the big picture...or vice versa. One day, she might find that balance.
For now, Doctor Hadley Baines was content to go off on one job or the next, pamper herself in between and now and then......Go Native!
