113 WA = the current year the SL takes place, 113 years after the World Asunder (Earth blew Up); about 220 years give or take, since the first colonies reached Javos and the Atlas Universe.
Alrutanium-alloy= (sounds like: All-REW-tay-knee-um) A lightweight but durable and highly temperature tolerant metal alloy mined from the asteroids around Saboria; it's most common use is in ships but there are a few (seemingly indestructible) blades about with Saborian markings. The raw ore is very hard to find and Saborians are the only suppliers who often make no reference to it's origins. To get something made of this alloy one must deal with the underside. For the underside to get something made of this alloy, they must deal with a Saborian (or someone who has).
Atlas Universe (Atlas-vers, At-verse, AtVerse)= what most call the current universe
Bach-Ore (Boey) = a mined substance refined or sold raw that's used to fuel most LGET Ships and all New-Tech ships. It's mined from the planet Hailos where prisoners from Blackrock are often put to labor.
Backtimes (Back-Times, Bak'Times) = commonly refers to Earth and the time before The World Asunder.
Bavishna (word from a nomadic people of Javos) = meaning "little beast"
Blackrock = A moon that revolves around Hailos that houses a penal station named for the moon it's on. Blackrock Moon and Station are run and patrolled by Javos Solution Services. Convicts of Blackrock are labored contracted to Hailos mining facilities as part of their condemnation. There are a few lesser known penal stations that are rumored to provide carnal entertainment for the Lords and Ladies of At-verse.
Cities of Old (CoO, Koo) = Hardly ever talked about, but the massive cities on Earth, be it the cities in the sky or the glass and steel towers on the coasts.
Common-Law = This refers to the founding rules, laws and ideals set by the founding generations within the At-verse.
Companion/Courtesaun/Doxy = Doxy is the most common term in the At-verse but the others are also used particularly among lords and ladies who feel that "doxy" is a slang term.
Cryo-stunting = A rarely known condition effecting the pilots who flew 3+ voyages between Earth and At-verse before the World Asunder. These pilots may outwardly look as young as 17 but technically be over two hundred years old from repeated centuries of distorted time through slip-space. Their bodies inwardly age like most people and will suffer from aching bones and joints as they get consciously older. Outwardly the process for aging appears much slower, this is caused by the stunting in the muscle and skin aging. This may mean that gaining muscle mass beyond their form the first two trips or so, may be difficult.
DETA (D.E.T.A.) = Docking Estimated Time of Arrival; sometimes said like 'detta'
Dock-Merchant (Dock-m, Dock-merch) = Men and Women who work and or live on Midway Station as merchants of various sorts employed by Merchant-Lords. Dock-Merchants employ people for freighters, dock-workers, security, an information. A Lord or Lady who chooses to be a Dock-m gives up their Title.
Earth Exodus (The Exodus, see 4 waves) = the event of leaving Earth in four waves; 1st - Left Earth 2642 AD, arrived AtVerse 2662-2672 AD; 2nd - Left Earth 2652 AD, arrived AtVerse 2672-2682 AD; 3rd - left Earth 2683 AD, arrived AtVerse 2703-2713 AD; 4th - left Earth 2725 AD, arrived AtVerse (2745-2837 AD, 3-95 years after the world blew up) , 03-95 WA.
Energy Cell = most small New-Tech devices like energy/stun pistols require them for power. They have a design flaw however, that can be explosively destructive for those who know it. (will come up in a plot somewhere, ask if interested in being part of it!)
Estate-Lord (Est'Lord) = Men who own land. Common laws by which most of the verse abides, state that women cannot own land and thus there's no such thing as an Est'Lady officially. Land could be vast but private , farmland, public housing, public recreation, private gaming, industry land etc.
Fight Broker - Typically a man who works for an Underboss explicitly for arranging combative entertainment.
Flash-Screen = hand held screen with built in or plugable memory that displays stills and or mini-motions for memory keepsakes.
Four Waves = refers to the staggered arrival of ships from Earth over the coarse of a two-hundred years or so in At-verse, and about fifty to one-hundred years on the Milky Way side. IE, someone who arrived during the first wave would be on At-verse time which began for them just before the destruction of Earth. By the time the second wave reached Javos and the At-verse fifty or so years had passed-- in some cases, families were split by generations in what felt like an instant. By the time the fourth-wave arrived the first-wave already set the foundation, many Lords are first-wave descendants up to five and six generations from then to 113WA.
Hailos = Planet where Bach-Ore is mined. It is one of the three Planets of Industry (Help create this world!)
Hailos Ruins= Ancient (10K+) ruins on Hailos that seem to be a temple of some sort connected to old bach-ore mines. Unknown to the general public and most AtVersians in general, these are the remnants of the wayward ship Saboria-Prime. (See Saboria, Saboria-Prime, and The First People, below for more)
Harbingers = cannibalistic maim-faced destroyers. Some say they aren't human anymore, other say they're just the products of a ship that came out of slip-space wrong. A good old-fashioned bullet to the head usually works, or decapitation. Some reports suggest their ribcages have thickened bone plating that protects their organs making them harder to kill. They float the edges of the black (space) and in some cases can be seen near the planets of industry.
Harvest-Lord (Har'Lord) = Lords who own any land or companies that produce the food and medicinal for At-verse. They are among the most respected.
High-Side = The rich/wealthy side of Midway Station consisting of the upper two decks. If you don't look like you belong you probably won't get to stay long!
Industry-Lord (In'Lord) = Any lord who owns land or a company that produces Industry goods. Mining, Clothes, Machines etc.
Javos = An Earth like planet settled before Earth exploded. Javos is where most food is harvested and farmed. Besides Midway Station, Javos is the most populated place in the known verse.
Javos Solution Services (JSS, Jissy) = Basically At-verse's version of a Military branch. They provide all kinds of services from mediation to security and transportation. They are the foot-soldiers of the Over-Lords even if they were originally founded as a means to help keep peace in the first settlements. (Help Define them!)
JSS-Arms = Specifically the men and women trained for various types of combat.
JSS-Captain = Man or Woman leading a ship and crew.
JSS-Collector = Man or woman specifically trained in retrieving convicts and outlaws.
JSS-Commander = Highest rank within JSS. There are Commanders for the different factions who are in charge of training and deployment when necessary.

JSS-Patrol (includes scouts) = Man or Woman specifically trained for various patrols. Ground, Spatial, Industrial etc.
JSS-Pilot (Jissy Flyer) = Man or Woman specifically trained to fly various ships. Not all pilots can fly all classes of ship.
JSS-Retrieval = Man or woman specifically trained to find and retrieve things and or people. (Considered a Special Operations role)
Jump-Drive = Refers to an engine designed to allow a short jump through space. Most A, H, J, L, NG, and S-class ships have one. P-Class ships do not often have one because of their general size.
Karklun = One of three Planets of Industry. (Help Create this Planet!)
Last-Gen Earth-Tech (LGET, L'jet) = Refers to most remaining technology brought over from Earth. It's only considered New-Tech if the process or functionality of the technology has improved in it's change.
Merchant-Lord (M'Lord) = Any Man who owns a stake on Midway Station. They employ Dock-Merchants to set up "Stacks" in their respective areas for a cut of the profits usually, or a flat rate like rent.
Midway Marshal - Midway Station peacekeepers & security. This is often filled by male and female cousins of the founding family. Anyone may also petition to the Over-Lord to become one; kind of like a Knight. They are usually addressed simply as "Marshal" and sometimes jokingly referred to as "Mad Men"
Midway Station (Midway) = It's about as center as you can get to the main planetary grouping that orbits the sun together. It's a massive 5 deck space-station where the upper two decks serve as the "High-Side", the lower two are the "Slum-side" and the bottom level is where most of the filtration and what not takes place. Midway Station is a necessary stop for any ship going from the Planets of Industry to Javos without a slip-drive.
Midway Station Blackout = refers to a time about six years ago when the entire station was shut down for about twenty minutes, an event that caused a lot of damage on all decks from various reactions of the people on the station at the time. To those on the Underside, it was a massacre.
Mini-Motions = short-clip videos of a few minutes usually. Recordings of someone's history or moment in time. Birthdays, first space jump, tours through Koo's etc.
MistHaven Moon = Misted moon revolving around Javos. One of the moons that always appears to be in the sky. The atmospheric layering allows shifting filters of the locals sun's light like the rainbow swirls on a bubble. These colors reflect off the mist changing the color of the sky. Non New-Tech ships have a hard time flying through the moon's atmosphere which makes it a Lord and Lady retreat. (Help Create this Moon's details!)
Mope/s = A slang term usually used for "ordinary" people or common folk.
New Tech = Any technology made in the AtVerse that is an improvement from L-Jet, or new all together (most Saborian technology is considered New Tech to most)
Passenger Freighter = Similar to an L-Class ship, though specifically designed for passengers. No longer made and currently titled an A-class ship.
Planets of Industry = a collection of three out-lying planets that have become home to stations and factories of industry. Mining, Material Manufacturing, Ship-Yards etc. The planets are Hailos, Karklun, and Zavaki
Piked-Men = specifically refers to the men (few women) who are branded as owned by Niema Pyke
Predatorial Species = Found on the planet Javos. List coming soon!
Raiders = Term specific to those who raid cities, encampments, space stations and ships by force. The title doesn't include looters of opportunity.
Ship, A-Class (Ancient, OLD-LGET) = Most Passenger Freighters are considered A-class.
Ship, H-Class (Hybrid) = Any ship made of pieces and parts. May run on Bach-Ore or A-class Anti-matter tech etc.
Ship, J-Class (Jumper) = Any ship that has a jump-drive and is absent a slip-drive.
Ship, L-Class (Long-Hauler) = A ship designed specifically for hauling inventory, usually through slip-space. Most L-Class ships have both a jump-drive and a slip-drive on top of general thrusters.
Ship, NG-Class (Next-Gen) = Technology made in the At-Verse that is an improvement from LGET or all together new.
Ship, P-Class (Pop-Class) = Population Class, referring to a ship made specifically as a city in space. There are not many of these left in the At-verse and only one known to be in working order. The others remain as building structures on Javos.
Ship, S-Class (Skiff) = Any small vessel meant absent both a jump-drive and slip-drive, meant for short range travel.
Slip-Drive = Refers to an engine designed to "slip" a ship through wide expanses of space in a fraction of the time. Requires extra shielding and in some cases cryogenic chambers.
Slum-side = This refers to the lower two decks (not counting the bottom) where most commerce takes place for common folk , freelancers, outlaws an the like.
Stack/s = This refers to the Merchant establishments/stores/booths/rooms on Midway Station. If a Dock-Merchant is sharing a Stack with someone it's referred to as a "Half-Stack" and "Third-Stack" to "Quarter-Stack" or "Q-Stack" as some would call it.
Stills = freeze-frame imagery, usually referred to of pictures before The World Asunder
Trade Coin (TC, tek bits, coin) = Copper coins used as currency markers or "credits" which are usually earned through corporate employment. Trade Coins are the second most recognized form of currency in the At-Verse. Bartering remains number 1.
Trade Contracts (T-Con, Trade Cons) = a trade contract is a contract for exchanging services for goods and vice versa. All trade contracts should include penalties for breaking the contract. They are legally binding by Common Law. (i.e. Bob has a T-con with Phil for a crate of bache-ore in return for three flights out to Javos and back; Bob may have included that if Phil doesn't complete his end of the bargain, penalty is 2 months at blackrock penal colony mining bache-ore for Bob.)
Under-Merchants (Un-Merch, Under'mer) = same thing as a Dock-merchant but specific to the Underside.
Underside = This refers both directly and indirectly to the underside of Midway Station and the dirty, unlawful dealings that take place there and through there.
Verdona- An herb grown on Javos and MistHavenMoon that causes feelings of enhanced sensory perception, euphoria, and a notion of invincibility. In small doses it can speed healing (like a drop in a gallon of water), while in larger doses it can be addictive and eventually fatal.
Wager-pits = fighting pits found in the Underside that are specifically for Freelance fighters and the like who are willing to fight for Tek'bits
Wingo(s)- (sounds like: wing-go) Saborian word for a velociraptor-like reptiles known for many injuries, deaths, and primitive but intelligent and strategic group attacks on AtVersians at large and on several planets and moons. Some Saborians are known for having and training them like guard-dogs (see the Saborian Glossary below). Lords, Ladies, and Counts or Underbosses can get a trained Wingo (or more) of their own if they have the right connections and money.
World Asunder = It is both the term used to indicate years after Earth Exploded and to name the event itself. When people speak of Earth's destruction they may say something like, "You're looking at some L'jet shit from before The World Asunder… I don't think I can piece this back together..."
Zavaki - One of three Planets of Industry. (Help Create this Planet!)

Alrutanium-alloy: (sounds like: All-REW-tay-knee-um) A lightweight but durable and highly temperature tolerant metal alloy mined from the asteroids around Saboria; it's most common use is in ships but there are a few (seemingly indestructible) blades about with Saborian markings. The raw ore is very hard to find and Saborians are the only suppliers who often make no reference to it's origins.
Ancestors- (getting traction in the underside) Saborian term for the people of Earth including only those who were born there.
Catai-(not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Kah-tie) Saborian word for a race of kind and caring aliens (open to input!)
First People, The- (catching on in the Verse) Saborian term for the founders of the ruins on Hailos; also called the Ancestors.
Helbos Ceeon (Currently 'Hailos')- (not known to the vast public, potentially known to archaeologist or anyone studying the Hailos Ruins) (sounds like: HELL-bow-ss KEY-on) Original name for Hailos, given to it by the first inhabitants, the occupants of Saboria Prime 11,000 years before the rest of the First Wave arrived. It means 'hells gate'
Jociedo- (not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Yo-SIGH-eh-doe), which the Saborian equivalent to 'Pandora'; used as a dangerous enigma, a box you don't want to open, the forbidden fruit, etc. (i.e. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, don't you know a Jociedo when you see one?")
Jumpgate- (not known to the vast public) Saborian tech that allows ships to go through slip-space without slip-space travel-worthy engines by using technology to create the gateway into slipspace and programming to help a pilot fly from one gate to another. Pilots must input both jump-in gate and exit gate before entering slip-space or risk flying blind as the gates whip by. So far, only Saborian ships and star-charts include these gates which are otherwise not visible to AtVerse radar or visual. They have their own proximity sensors and magnetic thrusters which move them slightly in space to avoid colliding with any traffic not incoming on an opened gate.
Knox Clan- (not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Knocks) a clan of Saborians known for being cross-blended with the Nahili Aliens AND the Catai Aliens, most known for their engineering, they are the pioneers of most Saborian technology involving the ships they live, explore, and make war in. (other info up for conjuring by other players or play...)
Pi Clan- (not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Pie) a clan of Saborians known for being excellent pilots and marksman with superb hand-eye coordination and the ability to process multiple variable data in their minds so action seems instinctive. (other info up for conjuring by other players or play...)
Nahili-(not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Nah-he-lee) Saborian word for a race of mean/bad aliens (open to input!)
Noji Clan- (not known to the vast public) (sounds like: No-G or No-she) a clan of Saborians known for being cross-blended with the Nahili Aliens, being war-hungry, primal, and beast-masters most notable for their Wingo Wrangling. (other info up for conjuring by other players or play...)
Radmadon Clan- (not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Rad-MUH-dawn) a clan of Saborians. (All info up for conjuring by other players or play...)
Rituals of Eternity- (not known to the vast public) Saborian terms for marriage ceremony. Each clan celebrates theirs a little differently.
Saboria (Originally Saboria-Prime)- (sounds like: Suh-BOAR-ee-ah) The Space Station floating in the asteroids outside Javos orbit and before the outter rings. It is the result of add-ons to the original ship, Saboria-Prime (see below). It is the home base of all Saborian clans and a highly secreted location within the asteroids. Saborians don't generally mention Saboria but they are proud to be Saborians, descendants of The First People. When asked where they are from, a Saborian might answer "my ship," for example.
Saboria-Prime (Currently 'Saboria')- (sounds like: Suh-BOAR-ee-ah) One of the lost ships from the first wave. (not known to the vast public) A ship that exited slip-space 11,000 years in the past of the same destination the rest of the waves later arrived. The people of this ship built the ruins on Hailos. While assumed as a temple because of the Artists freedom on the walls, the structure itself was originally simply built to help house workers who mined the planet to upgrade the ship so they could leave and see if anyone else landed on a different planet perhaps... NOW, it has become a space station located in the asteroid belt not yet explored by the rest of the Waveians from Earth. It is made up of structures built onto the original ship so it's not likely anyone would recognize it as it is now except maybe inside certain areas like the bridge. It is commonly referred to as as Saboria these days.
The Others-Saborian term for the general WorldAssunder At-verse population excluding themselves.
Verdona- An herb grown on Javos and MistHavenMoon that causes feelings of enhanced sensory perception, euphoria, and a notion of invicibility. In small doses it can speed healing (like a drop in a gallon of water), while in larger doses it can be addictive and eventually fatal (except to Nahili, or Nahili-mixblooded AtVersians who can heal from the damages but not block the addiction).
Vvai(v'eye; rhymes with die)- (not known to the vast public) Saborian word for War [i.e. "M'jan z'roc Vvai!"=(sounds like: "ME'jawn Zeh-ROCK V'eye" and -mostly-rhymes with: We Dawn The Rock Die)="This means war!" ....also "The Vvai-Council has been Summoned, kor adu xeac'x ue Vvai (we are going to war)!" (sounds like "core ah-do z'eye-zacks, oo(like truth)-eh v'eye) ; sometimes used in lieu of 'Warlord' (i.e. "We need help, have you put words to Vvai'Radmadon yet?")]
Wayers/WAers- (sounds like: wayers) Saborian term for the general WorldAssunder At-verse population excluding themselves.
