The Saborian race in this application are NOT known among the general At-verse population!
This application is an example of how anyone may submit an application with an idea,
even if that idea is an entirely different culture! We simply ask you try to weave your
idea with someone elses so that play comes more natural through those plots.

Tell us a random/odd fact about yourself. = I have a small (blue M & M shaped) tin which I call my "thing of things" because it includes trinkets, rocks, shells, pieces of metal, wood, paper, etc that have been given to me or found over the years which mean something to me. :) It's almost out of room... >.>
Tell us about one of your favorite RP moments. = (The Convicted) I'd leave it at that, but not everyone got to play there and knows what I mean just saying that! lol So....there was one scene where new convicts were RPing their drop onto Convict Island (I was playing an insider and outsider already on the island but observing from afar in both cases) and one of the new guys headed for the woods (outsider territory) where he met face to face with The Butcher (King of the Outsiders, as it were) and dared to challenge him. It was the first time the player was RPing in the SL and the first time playing that character and The Butcher killed him. BAM. Dead. It was appropriate for the SL and it set the mood for the rest of the game because that player was like "holy crap...shit...damn....okay.... I'll make another, BETTER, convict!" and the play continued; more characters died but the players kept on playing and bringing in fresh meat. It was the best SL I've ever been in. (credits to Remmy, CARC, and all the players!)
Describe your thoughts of this SL in five words. = FanArt, in and of itself.
Would you prefer a writing prompt (for the char you're applying for) from SL Members and/or questions? = Either or/ both? I'm down for whatever. :)
Did anyone recruit you?(What were they like?) = sorta... Remmy and Rosa were working on this and I sort of inserted myself (not that they wouldn't have invited me eventually) we all know I got ideas! Remmy probably convinced me to join and not just throw my two cents in though.

Played By= Natalie Martinez
Category= Saborian (sounds like: Sah-BOAR-eon) (not on the terms page yet but what she'd be classified as)
Name = Capt'n Clan-Leader and Head of the Saborian Vvai-Council Knox Rumor 'Maddox'
(note that 'head' just means being counted, higher ranks exist, open to ideas!)
Alias/Nicknames = Maddox, Capt'n (Captain), Capt'n Maddox, or Goggles [among other Saborians she's also known as Jociedo (see glossary)]
Age = 57 (looks in her 20s)
Status = Widower
Height = 5' 6"
Weight = 120 lbs (34B-23-35)
Eye Color = Black (sometimes glowing/phosphorescent cobalt blue)
Hair Color = Darkbown/Black
General Demeanor/Personality = Intelligent. Honest. Compassionate. Protective (including her ship and crew, which are considered apart of her family). Fierce. Merciless. Ingenius. Instinctive. Primal. Observant. Wrathful. Fearless.
Quirks =
+Extremely sensitive skin (i.e. NormalRange(for exposed skin): movements as subtle as rolling the shoulders can be felt in the air current from across a room-10ft; IntuneRange(for exposed skin): movements as minute as the blink of an eye can be felt in the air current from across a room-10ft.)
+Extreme sensitivity to light (can see in pitch black clear as day, is blind in light brighter than dusk or dawn and must wear goggles/shades.);
+Prays before crossing the spaces between inorganic and organic (i.e. from a ship to land and vice versa) (this is a diluted Kagmi Ritual)
+Generally potent (if short-lived) first reaction to any inebriating substances with a fast build up of tolerance with repeated exposure;
+Her eyes glow a cobalt-blue when she gets emotional or if she invokes her second or third sight (explained below);
+She does not speak in the hour of transition between day and night (even the implied hour when in space and there is no day and night) (this is a diluted Kagmi Ritual)
+Hyper-in-tune to the quantum consciousness (i.e. she can seem to read peoples thoughts from time to time, or pick up on things she doesn't have a full conscious understanding of. This only works if she's thinking of something along the same lines someone else is thinking. It's stronger the more people collectively thinking the same thing. She's not in control of this and she only gets the notions as if they were her own thoughts so she doesn't know someone else is thinking them unless they confirm it or she trusts her instincts.)
+Addicted to Verdona, an herb grown on Javos and MishavenMoon -Only her crew knows this...(i.e. while she tries to and largely avoids the drug, if she is exposed to it, nothing short of a forceful intervention will stop her from reclaiming her need to enjoy it.)
+She has gills and can breathe under water. (they are in her sinuses, so unless someone examines her internally, it's not an obvious thing.)
Best Skills = Intuition, Navigation, Astral-mechanical engineering, programming, Piloting, MacGyvering, Close-Quater Combat, Swimming, mimicking, Linguistics, Wingo Training, and Invoking 3 different sights, sometimes overlapping.*
General Skills = Running, climbing, cooking, cleaning, sewing, Firearms, dancing, basic first aid, memorization, organic-mechanical hybridization, making stuff up, learning new things
*
Normal Vision/Sight= acute vision that can read micro printing without trying and detect microdots but not read them if she focuses hard enough.
Aura Vision/(2nd Sight)= ability to see people's aura's and get a sense of their personal will power right off the bat. It can also betray emotions and awareness.
Heat Vision (3rd sight)=Newly learned ability to tune into heat signatures.
Reputation = Quietly and steadily being known for operating a Ghost Ship indistinguishable (yet-open to exploration of this in RP) to their systems for tracking or detection. Being known for always keeping her word, running a tight-nit (if strange) crew. Rumored to be from a ship that must have gotten scrambled in slip-space because she and her crew aren't like most WorldAsunderers and have a tendency to call everyone-else-not-them "(the) Others" "Wayers" and "Waveians" like they consider themselves apart.
Brief Bio (3 or more Paragraphs) =
Rumor Onartok Knox was born the only child of clan leaders Nanuq and Simona Knox aboard the Knox clan Flag ship, the SWIFT. She didn't cry and never seemed to learn to speak and yet, even as a toddler, became known for building strange things with weird benefits. Often found wandering off on her own or hiding inside herself while staring blankly at a wall that might later be decorated with child painted programming code or complex math. The crew was forbidden to wash any of it away and over time, they became known as the Memoirs of Maddox. While there was some debate on if the old-time phrase was really Maddox or Madmax, the former won and became the kids moniker. A kid who was credited with advancements in communications, jumpgates, and Leviathan-ship-brain and Saborian-ship technology integration in a quest to talk to and get to the 'the ancestors who still live.' Though, at the time and still, no one realized it was the rest of the people from Earth and their descendants she sensed across the galaxy and wanted to reach out to.
As she got old, Maddox believed that they had to go back from where they came, into the system and not out from it to find answers to their nomadic troubles. While it was logical... Saboria, the first ship which was now a more massive space-station hidden in the thicket of the asteroids outside Javos' orbit before the middle moon (as they call it) that sits just inside the dual orbit of the Nahili and Catai's opposing planets orbiting the same sun. It was not her clan's way to do the exploring, they were the engineers and builders of the great ships and jumpgates that made it possible for their nomadic group to survive the Nahili and keep in touch with the Catai. Too, for their mixed blood and some generations back that accepted the childlings of those raped by the Nahili and the strange love of human and Catai that resulted in strange mutations in many of their offspring including gills, webbing fingers or toes, tinted skin of abnormal colors, glowing eyes and random 'abilities' of enhanced senses that made them unnatural to the rest of the decedents of the Ancestors of Saboria-Prime. Because of this, it was only another mixed clan that agreed to accept the young (apparent) mute on her first pilgrimage out of the asteroid cluster; the Noji clan. Warriors and Wingo wranglers, the Noji clan was wild and unpredictable but as useful as the Knox in their primal instincts and knack for communing with beasts.
The much older Frank Le'shanko Noji became her chaperon and quickly fell for her despite her young age that barely breached womanhood. It was Le'Shanko Noji that taught her the intricacies of close-quarter combat and found himself quickly outpaced even if she couldn't outpower him. The Captain of the Noji ship thought that Le'Shanko and Maddox were getting too friendly in their sparring and tried to separate them. It went badly and Le'Shanko kidnapped the younger Saborian and fled with a small but loyal crew on a MacGyvered skiff. Like a band of rebels, they brought war to the Nahili and raided Wavevians who got too close to their routes. Maddox learned to wrangle Wingos like the Noji and proved herself adept at learning new things quickly. Even if the concepts were at first abstract to her. Against the wishes of her family and his, Le'Shanko married Maddox in the rituals of eternity. While she's never confessed to anyone, that had been the beginning of her Verdona addiction. It was also the only way she survived Frank's tough love and appetite for war. He used her genius to make his ship outrun the others and made her hack the jumpgates to give his ship priority jumps and lock anyone out who tried to precede him in range and locked on to a gate. None of it made her hate him enough to leave him until his public assault on her in the wake of admitting she was still yet, without child. He was found hanged in their compartment the next morning and the High-Council unanimously ruled it a suicide while locking Maddox in the box to detox.
It took three months in the box to detox off Verdona after years of use. When she came out, she learned that her parents had died a year earlier of natural causes and that it was her Uncle, Jon Von Knox who was running the Clan. Released to her clan, she was sequestered to the flag ship once more, her Memoirs still painted on the walls but dirty and scratched with age and passing bodies colliding. It didn't take Jon long to realize that Maddox knew the SWIFT better than he did. He made her the pilot but he couldn't keep her out of the brain or engine room either. Some of the crew thought this undermined his power and leadership of the clan. In bringing this to his attention, they were put to battle against him and lost. The remaining members didn't support his claim to the Clan head, or his voice of the Vvai-Council on their behalf. He was as blood thirsty as the Noji who took after the Nahili more than the Knox usually did. Under the petition that, despite and perhaps because of her run with the Noji, no one had done more to elevate the Knox in recent (dwindling) years than Maddox. No one knew the Knox's Flag ship better. No one was more fearless and more adventurous or cunning as she. By unanimous vote of the SWIFT crew, and support petitions of the other two Knox ships, Maddox was named Captain and Jon Von Knox was removed from the Vvai-Council and forcibly detained in a small station outside Saboria called Saboria Outer Station (SOS) which was home to the criminally insane.
Since then, Capt'n Maddox has lost some crew and managed to skirt by without adding any new hires or taking on any new husbands. She's ventured into the system and mingled with the living Ancestors without telling anyone she was finally beginning to understand some things she didn't yet know enough to fully grasp. Things that separated her people from the Waveians as much as it brought them together. It's not war the Warlord brings, except to those who start it, but rather the notion that these Lords, Ladies, and the families and servants they command weren't the only entities dominating the galaxy and they weren't exactly on the top of the food chain no matter how civilized they imagined themselves. At least from the perspective of a Saborian who's seen more of the AtVerse than most on either side of Javos' orbit. Space is where she was born and where she is at home and there's more than one reason the underside has taken a shining to using the ghost ship for special cargo hauls and occasional undersided dealings of their particular specialties... Her crew knows how to keep things on the DL, they run like a well oiled machine when they need to, even if they seem like a rag-tag crew otherwise.

The Saborian Run-Down
Saboria-Prime was an engineering and mining ship that got bumped by an anomaly upon entering slip-space and exited 11,000 years before the rest of the first wave, into the AtVerse. Crash landing on what is now Hailos, the people of Saboria-Prime build shelter and immediately surveyed and began mining the planet to repair their ship. When they found no one else landing on the planet or in range, they decided to leave the place they dubbed 'Helbos Ceeon' or 'Hells Gate.' Runes of protection painted on the walls by the shaman and sacrifices made to the blue sun (Karklun before they knew it was a planet and not a sun) that never seemed to leave the sky. As Saborian Lore tells it, the 'First People' left Helbos Ceeon in search of the rest of their people but found that space was empty and vast even in this verse.
With only themselves to occupy each other, their obsessions with engineering and technology turned the raw materials they still had on board into upgrades that eventually gave them the fighting chance they needed when the Nahili dropped out of slipspace and started dominating the galaxy for resources. Not long after them, came the Catai who, as lore tells it, saved the Saborian clans from the Nahili destruction and helped them drive them back to the outer rings where they have remained largely dormant. Like silent caretakers, the Catai retreated to the otherside of the outer rings and took up in the blue giant with it's big ringed moon. Saborians continued to build more ships and browse the galaxy and this particular system of planets and moons which was actually habitable. As they grew, they broke into clans based on their specializations.
These tended to be passed on down the family line but even the small jobs are held in high honor for a sense of symbiosis is required to survive living and working on a ship almost all the time. Folks can petition to join a clan they weren't born into or married into, but it requires a 3/4ths approval ratio from the whole clan and the dropping of their old clan name and acceptance of their new one. Each clan has a leader or pair of leaders, gender doesn't matter. Each leader (or pair of leaders who select a leader) also serves as a war-lord on the war-council or in higher honor of the High Council of Saboria.
Through out the thousands of years before the rest of the First Wave arrived, the Saborians, Nahili, and Catai lived in perspective peace in their chosen places on the outskirts of the solar system. Each monitoring the other and consumption of natural resources. Eventually the Catai and Nahili grew so quiet the Saborians stopped visiting and stopped warring. All was quite in the verse until the First Wave arrived, and those that followed, all disrupting the harmony and causing the Nahili to wage war on the Saborians once again, blaming them for the sudden appearance of more humans and their continued arrival and population of the core planets. It has been a sparse war, with the space between their home worlds/bases being so far apart save once a revolution. It's only a matter of time before they decide to take it to the core planets directly!
Glossery
Ancestors- (getting traction in the underside) Saborian term for the people of Earth including only those who were born there.
Catai-(not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Kah-tie) Saborian word for a race of kind and caring aliens (open to input!)
Helbos Ceeon- (not known to the vast public, potentially known to archaeologist or anyone studying the Hailos ruins) (sounds like: HELL-bow-ss KEY-on) Original name for Hailos, given to it by the first inhabitants, the occupants of Saboria Prime 11,000 years before the rest of the First Wave arrived. It means 'hells gate'
Jociedo- (not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Yo-SIGH-eh-doe), which the Saborian equivalent to 'Pandora'; used as a dangerous enigma, a box you don't want to open, the forbidden fruit, etc. (i.e. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, don't you know a Jociedo when you see one?")
Jumpgate- (not known to the vast public) Saborian tech that allows ships to go through slip-space without slip-space travel-worthy engines by using technology to create the gateway into slipspace and programming to help a pilot fly from one gate to another. Pilots must input both jump-in gate and exit gate before entering slip-space or risk flying blind as the gates whip by. So far, only Saborian ships and star-charts include these gates which are otherwise not visible to AtVerse radar or visual. They have their own proximity sensors and magnetic thrusters which move them slightly in space to avoid colliding with any traffic not incoming on an opened gate.
Knox Clan- (not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Knocks) a clan of Saborians known for being cross-blended with the Nahili Aliens AND the Catai Aliens, most known for their engineering, they are the pioneers of most Saborian technology involving the ships they live, explore, and make war in. (other info up for conjuring by other players or play...)
Pi Clan- (not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Pie) a clan of Saborians known for being excellent pilots and marksman with superb hand-eye coordination and the ability to process multiple variable data in their minds so action seems instinctive. (other info up for conjuring by other players or play...)
Nahili-(not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Nah-he-lee) Saborian word for a race of mean/bad aliens (open to input!)
Noji Clan- (not known to the vast public) (sounds like: No-G or No-she) a clan of Saborians known for being cross-blended with the Nahili Aliens, being war-hungry, primal, and beast-masters most notable for their Wingo Wrangling. (other info up for conjuring by other players or play...)
Radmadon Clan- (not known to the vast public) (sounds like: Rad-MUH-dawn) a clan of Saborians. (All info up for conjuring by other players or play...)
Rituals of Eternity- (not known to the vast public) Saborian terms for marriage ceremony. Each clan celebrates theirs a little differently.
Saboria-Prime- (sounds like: Suh-BOAR-ee-ah) One of the lost ships from the first wave. (not known to the vast public) A ship that exited slip-space 11,000 years in the past of the same destination the rest of the waves later arrived. The people of this ship built the ruins on Hailos. While assumed as a temple because of the Artists freedom on the walls, the structure itself was originally simply built to help house workers who mined the planet to upgrade the ship so they could leave and see if anyone else landed on a different planet perhaps... NOW, it has become a space station located in the asteroid belt not yet explored by the rest of the Waveians from Earth. It is made up of structures built onto the original ship so it's not likely anyone would recognize it as it is now except maybe inside certain areas like the bridge. It is commonly referred to as as Saboria these days.
The Others-Saborian term for the general WorldAssunder At-verse population excluding themselves.
Verdona- An herb grown on Javos and MisthavenMoon that causes feelings of enhanced sensory perception, euphoria, and a notion of invicibility. In small doses it can speed healing (like a drop in a gallon of water), while in larger doses it can be addictive and eventually fatal (except to Nahili, or Nahili-mixblooded AtVersians who can heal from the damages but not block the addiction).
Vvai(v'eye; rhymes with die)- (not known to the vast public) Saborian word for War [i.e. "M'jan z'roc Vvai!"=(sounds like: "ME'jawn Zeh-ROCK V'eye" and -mostly-rhymes with: We Dawn The Rock Die)="This means war!" ....also "The Vvai-Council has been Summoned, kor adu xeac'x ue Vvai (we are going to war)!" (sounds like "core ah-do z'eye-zacks, oo(like truth)-eh v'eye) ; sometimes used in lieu of 'Warlord' (i.e. "We need help, have you put words to Vvai'Radmadon yet?")]
Wayers/WAers- (sounds like: wayers) Saborian term for the general WorldAssunder At-verse population excluding themselves.
Waveians/WAAVians- (sounds like: wave-ee'ins)Saborian term for the general WorldAssunder At-verse population excluding themselves.
Wingo(s)- (sounds like: wing-go)Saborian word for a velociraptor-like reptiles known for many injuries, deaths, and primitive but intelligent and strategic group attacks on AtVersians at large and on several planets and moons. The Noji Clan of Saborians are best known for their wrangling of these reptiles and using of them as intelligent guard dogs. (Willing to have input on these guys)
