Alias/Name = Gaplin
Age = Older than most who will join I am sure
SN for this character = deadmansheart
Email (if different) =
Tell us a random/odd fact about yourself. = I know Rem and Tu IRL
Tell us about one of your favorite RP moments. = I was playing my Badlander Juju character in a Zombie/Mutant SL with a friend. It was a serious scene but he and I decided to have a little fun anyway. Our characters were blocking up a bridge to keep the zombies from crossing. Juju had the mutant ability to control other organic tissue like a puppet master. He used his ability to force a bunch of zombies into crawling between the rubble they already put up in order to fill the gaps. We got a good laugh about the zombie-wall and his character shifting into a gorilla to move heavy things. It was a good time.
Describe your thoughts of this SL in five words. = Intriguing, organized, promising, original (the voting application process for AOL specifically), and inspiring.
Would you prefer a writing prompt (for the char you're applying for) from SL Members and/or questions? = Both, either or.
Did anyone recruit you?(What were they like?) = Rosa is a new acquaintance for me but Rem I know and will always play in something she's involved in because she is one of the best plotters I know and her graphic skills are awesome too. LOL Talking with Rosa was easy and she was encouraging of the premise behind my character when we spoke about who I would apply with first.
Recruiter SN = (Rosa) lethal iullaby, (Rem) blackdeathpyke
I know his history is a bit long but with his long list of skills I thought it necessary.

Played By= Chris Hemsworth
Category= Outlaw
Name = Zachariah Smith
Alias/Nicknames = BlueEyes
Age = 37
Status = Single, never married
Height = 6' 4''
Weight = 276 lbs
Eye Color = Cobalt blue
Hair Color = Dirty brown
General Demeanor/Personality = Generally nonchalant, seems to eat all the time, extremely observant, recognizes patterns of behavior and personality characteristics which he will often act on without explaining. This sometimes makes him seem like he knows things people think he should not. He is choosey about which jobs he will take and what crews he will work with but he will usually always hear a proposal. He is a dominant man who is easily misread by observers, especially those who know of his reputation.
Quirks = Zachariah hates being called Zach. He has a very fast metabolism so he has to eat a lot to keep up his energy. Other than the very first few years of his life, Zachariah has a perfect and vividly detailed memory. It's rumored that his deadmans heart makes him incapable of love and affection, that his charm is merely an imitation of what he has seen in others.
Best Skills = Leather work, endurance, running, rapid situational assessment, survivalist, rapid building (shelters, bridges, defenses, etc), camouflage, navigation (land/water), hand to hand combat, knives (crafting, maintenance, concealing, combat, throwing), torture tactics, Gorilla Warfare, Scouting/Patrolling, infiltration, retrieval, hunting and tracking, deceit detection, deadly force (a variety of killing methods including poisons), stealth, melee combat (axes, swords long and short, daggers etc) climbing (walls, trees, mountains, etc), mounted combat (on the back of a horse, best with an axe or bow and arrow), swimming, pistols & rifles (maintenance and sharpshooting),
General Skills = Beguiling charm, drawing/painting (though he rarely shares), seduction, storytelling, cooking, wood carving, fishing, remembering, some dance, fishing, basic First Aid, evasion, pick-pocketing, slight of hand,
Reputation = Many tell stories about the man born with a deadmans heart. A heart that knows only one thing for certain and that is the finality of death. The most common claim of his story is that of an orphan boy raised by the darkest souls of the At-verse (not including Harbingers.) He is a blue eyed demon believed to have killed more men before his fifteenth birthday than most Outlaws have and will in a life time. They say his charm is but the polish glinting off the edge of death like the metal on a sword. It is rumored his presence comes like the armored weight of a boot on your chest and the lethal precision of string through a needle. Popular belief maintains that there is not any man or beast he cannot or will not kill if he makes the choice to do so. In some corners there is much hush about the prospect of him being a hire for the Lords of At-verse as an Assassin.
Brief Bio (3 or more Paragraphs) = His earliest recollections begin around the age of three and are the most incomplete and hard to recall of all his otherwise perfectly recorded memories. He does not remember how he got to be among the band of thieves and killers and regrettably never asked before they were all killed almost a decade later. Even as early as three he remembers learning how to pick a pocket and work leather. He had no real name or claim to anything, he was simply called "BlueEyes." He bares scars on the tops of both hands where he was switched repeatedly until he learned to make his hands quick enough to avoid it. Taking advantage of his size and impressionability as a child he was used to infiltrate buildings and set up traps all over the different colonies on Javos.
By age six he began wielding weapons, everything from daggers to battle axes each crudely made to size for him. He was trained on the weaknesses of a man's physiology and how to use his small stature and young age as tools of deception and advantage. He knows now he was manipulated, but at the time he was wielded as an unsuspecting assassin. His first kill was a test, his way to prove to the clan he was one of them. It was the beginning of a long list of many more. In those early years he believed he was killing people who threatened the lives and well being of the only family he knew. It was not brute strength or supreme skill that earned the young BlueEyes his first dozen kills, it was underestimation and disbelief that gave him the opportunity to take their lives. Killing rapidly then became the one constant in his life, like an addiction that can make the bones ache for it.
Before his thirteenth year the clans bad karma caught up to them and BlueEyes was the only survivor, escaped by running and swimming down river as far and fast as he could. At first, the world and life was beautiful, full of hope and possibility. But the more he looked at the beauty offered by people the more he realized it was a cover for a rotten core. He was a skilled and cunning young lad and those whom he crossed sought to take advantage. They created the drive that would forever be the birth of his freedom and the chains of his damnation. He chose a name for himself, Zachariah Smith, and tracked one of the most notorious band of Mercs in the At-verse. He made an oath unto himself that he would forever be a free man. A man who makes his own path and chooses his own fights. The first step of which was to prove to those already respected in the trade that his name would one day be known. He did not win the physical fight with them for they knew skill and intent when they saw it, but he did win the right among them. It was there he refined his skills and formally began accepting bounties as a Merc. Of course, still yet a boy to most it was done through a Marauder proxy under the claim of his identities protection.
Zachariah did not stay with them long, using them as a stepping stone into the game of lives. With his name on the board he began to fly solo, taking every bounty he could manage, big and small. It was in this time, as he crested the age of fifteen, that rumors of his skill began to spread like common knowledge. Even if few realized at the time how young yet he was. While he cannot prove it, he believes there were many jobs between then and his twentieth that were handed to him for the sole purpose of seeing just how good he was and how far he would go to complete a job. By the same will that keeps his instruments sharp and kept, he completed every one of them. Lords, Priests, Jissy's, barricaded hoarders, mountain men, children and even beasts. The claim to follow his name would be that there was not a job he could not do if he accepted it. "If he accepts" became the preamble to all who would recommend him though he keeps his reasons for accepting any job to himself. He believes every man deserves his secrets, even if they may be the cause of his death.
Like many men before him he learned the treacherous dangers of a woman, how her beauty and femininity could strip a man of his sense. Not yet twenty-five Zachariah "BlueEyes" Smith bed his first woman and felt the sting of first-regrets; learning through experience that women could be as dangerous and deadly as any man, if not more so. He did not kill her though, not right away. He kept her as a prisoner for years, siphoning her knowledge of poisons and the desires of women under the promise of freedom he would never grant her. He did not trust she would not come back and try to kill him again later. For all he'd learned of her he knew she had learned of him, death was the only intelligent option and he did not hesitate when she claimed to have nothing left to offer him.
Many of the jobs he took in his mid to late twenties were ones that would send him to the furthest and most dangerous reaches of the known At-verse. Hunting escaped prisoners, deserters and traitors, bringing back their heads as proof for payment and otherwise staying out of sight and out of mind. They were tough years for him in general and as far as he could tell some version of a mid-life crisis. It is a terrible thing to remember all the faces of who you have killed and for Zachariah it is not a matter of guilt so much as an overwhelming abundance of dark memories. He felt empty inside, like something was missing from him as a human being. Why else might he feel so vacant even in during the moment of taking another life? He chose to stay away from humanity and took the harder jobs on a quest to feel something other than the calculating pulse of his base instincts and hard wired skills.
Zachariah came to believe for himself, the tales of his deadmans heart. Within the last decade Zachariah branched out further into mercy killings; the old, crippled and ill who have meager coin and no will to do it themselves. When they ask him why, why he of all would help he simply replies "why not?" He has learned that a killing man such as himself does not need to be limited to the foulest or hardest of kills. He knows many would and do decline such jobs because they see them of little value. For a man who kills as easily as he drinks water, Zachariah cannot deny the ill-fated his fatal mercy. Always searching for change and things of new experiences he has been called back to the public eye by rumors of an expedition to explore the further reaches of the At-verse.
